This course is for:

Individuals who have never been certified as a referee.
Former referees who have not recertified in 3 or more years.

Step 1: Create or Access Your Learning Center Account

New Referees

Visit the U.S. Soccer Learning Center.
Click Sign Up.
Create your account.
Select Register as Referee.
Verify your email address and log in.

Returning Referees

Log in using the email address associated with your previous referee account.
If needed, click Forgot Password.
If you're unsure which email is connected to your referee profile, contact:

Step 2: Find the Course

Once you're logged in:

Click Referee Program.
Select Referee License Pathway.
Click Register for a Course.
Select Available Courses.
Under Licenses, click First-Time Referees.
Click the red Go to Course List button.

Step 3: Register for the Oahu Course

Under Upcoming First-Time Referees:

Locate 2027 First Time (New) Referee Online Course – Oahu.
Click Course Details.
Click Proceed to Registration.
Complete your registration.
Pay the $65.00 registration fee.

Step 4: Complete Required Training (18+ Only)

If you are 18 years of age or older, you must also complete:

Background Screening

A background screening is required before certification.

The background screening fee is separate from the course registration fee.

SafeSport Training

Complete the required SafeSport training through your Learning Center account.

Step 5: Complete Your Online Coursework

After registering:

Click Courses.
Select My Courses.
Click Go to Classroom.
Select Assignments.
Complete every assignment, including:
- Online lessons
- Videos
- Quizzes
- Final Exam

Important: Scroll to the bottom of the Assignments page to make sure you've completed every required assignment.

Step 6: Attend the Required Field Training

After completing all online coursework, attend the required in-person field training.

You must complete every requirement before becoming a certified U.S. Soccer Referee.
